Yoga Tune Up® classes combine poses with corrective movement and therapeutic self-massage. Using Yoga Tune Up® Therapy Balls, you’ll unlock myofascial restrictions, improve body awareness and de-stress. The Roll Model® Method, developed by Jill Miller, relieves pain and alleviates movement restrictions by identifying “body blind spots”—parts of the body that are overused, underused or misused. Improve balance, decrease chance of injury, develop range of motion and improve posture. The benefits of this practice are profound and the cornerstone to all movement activities and rest.
The word "Hatha" is the umbrella term for all physical practices of yoga and also means the yoga of opposing energies, ha (sun) and tha (moon). These well-rounded sequences provide strength and resistance to support muscle tone, range of motion and bone density. Using breath and meditative focus, this class offers the balance of a traditional yoga based practice infused with biomechanics. Science + Spiritual = Balance.
You’ll flow through a strong sequence of standing postures, linking breath with movement to build strength and endurance, as you push the edge of your balance and flexibility. Creative and uplifting, this music led class will promote best practices in alignment, while moving toward peak poses to appropriately challenge you.
Start your day with a balanced mind and body. Many students wake up with tightness and stiffness after a night's rest. This class begins with a gentle neck and wrist warm up that leads into a strong practice. Take your body through its full range of motion with this inspiring, refreshing and energizing class.
Practice to unwind tension and stress while balancing energy between strength and relaxation. Accompanied by music, movement will stabilize and/or mobilize muscles and joints that are overused or underused. Every class is an opportunity to meditate and focus the mind which enhances mood, improves brain functioning, and facilitates renewal.
